“Calmness of mind is one of the beautiful jewels of wisdom” – James Allen.

I often share this quote because this is the quote I always return to when I feel that I overthink and I need to declutter the mind.

This article is the first of a new series called: "The Journey To Inner Peace" and let us see where it takes us. I believe it is very significant now to experience more peace in your life for the sake of joy, happiness and prosperity.

The purpose of The Journey To Inner Peace Series is to take you on a journey where you experience a greater sense of peace and inner harmony. Just imagine that no matter what is going on outside, you have the strength to overcome it because you feel at ease and have peace of mind.

The most significant things that disturb our peace are worries. As a result, I will start the first part of The Journey To Inner Peace with the concept of taking 100% responsibility for your life.

Other people, who hear this concept might think: “oh, are you sure that I should take 100% responsibility for whatever happens in my life?” And my answer to this is a sounding YES! you need to take 100% responsibility for whatever happens in your life if you want to grow and progress spiritually.

Let me reinforce my point by sharing with you two possible scenarios so that you can make your own decision on the matter.

Scenario #1: you choose not to take 100% responsibility for whatever happens in your life. In this context, you choose to be at effect. You believe that you are powerless; there is nothing you can do to turn things around, bounce back and stand up. You become a victim of your circumstances and feel bitter because you blame others for what is never, considering that you may have a part to play, whether big or small.

In this first scenario, the primary belief system you operate with is that nothing is changeable or mutable; everything remains as is.

Scenario #2: you choose to take 100% responsibility for your life. You have a more expansive view because you have extended awareness. You know that changing your attitude to life enables you to respond to your life’s challenges. The awareness that you can respond makes you feel empowered. You know that with your creative power, you can improve your life and undo anything that does not feel right in your life. You commit to using your power of decision, creation and action to turn things around for the better.

In this second scenario, the primary belief system you operate with is that there is always a solution to any problem you may face.

Of course, these two choices lead to two different results:

  • The result of not taking 100% responsibility for your life is that nothing changes, and you spend the rest of your life with regrets, struggling with what could have been and 'what-ifs…'

  • On the other hand, the result of taking 100% responsibility for your life is that you choose to take the path of progress, and you are willing to go the extra mile to turn things around. You know that it might not be a straight victory because you may encounter obstacles along the way; however, you are willing to give it a go no matter what.

If right now you are faced with obstacles in your life, try the second approach and tell yourself: “If I were to take at least 5% responsibility towards this particular problem, what would I do?”

You might also wonder how taking 100% responsibility for whatever happens in your life leads to inner peace. I can reveal to you that it leads to inner peace because you awaken to your authentic power, the unlimited God-given power of creation that lies within. Anything that goes against your inner strength is fear-based.

I highly recommend that you use the concept of taking 100% responsibility to transform your life step by step.

Should there be something you have been struggling with for a while, you can experiment with the idea of taking 100% responsibility for your life to turn things around.
