The Gratitude Experiment - Week 2

Henry Ward Beecher said:

“Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul.”

This quote on gratitude reminds us to look at life with humility and avoid taking things for granted.

Since you are participating in the 7 Weeks of Gratitude Experiment :

Let’s throw unfairness out of the window and continue to develop a loving heart.

I know it can be challenging to be grateful when life seems full of obstacles and things are not going well. Gratitude might be the last thing on your mind. You might feel dispirited right now, discouraged and losing hope. However, can you believe that this too shall pass? The difficulty might be a temporary setback, and you can empower yourself again through the power of love, meditation and prayer.

I invite you in this article to count your blessings and see a glimmer of light and hope on the horizon.

There is a passage that I love in Nelson Mandela’s autobiography "Long Walk To Freedom:"

"When Nelson Mandela was imprisoned he chose peace. He declared: “I always knew that deep down in every human heart, there was mercy and generosity. No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than the opposite. Even in the grimmest times in prison, when my comrades and I were pushed to our limits, I would see a glimmer of humanity in one of the guards, perhaps just for a second, but it was enough to reassure me and keep me going. Men’s goodness is a flame that can be hidden but never extinguished.”

Remember, when you say yes to love, you say yes to life.
