This blog article is a celebratory one to mark the 6th anniversary of The Everyday Life Balance show since its first launch on the 2nd of June 2017.

It was a special moment because I did not know what I was doing.:)

However, I knew I wanted to launch a podcast and have never looked back. It shows that when you have an idea, it is crucial to start and commit to it fully.

To celebrate, I will summarise the top three most popular episodes this year.

Before we dive into the top three episodes this year, let us reflect on why maintaining balance in our lives is crucial. In our fast-paced modern world, we are often overwhelmed and stressed due to increasing responsibilities. By prioritising balance and harmony daily, we can achieve equilibrium and better cope with daily stressors. This mindset also enables us to focus on well-being and enjoy each day.

Let us look at the three most popular episodes our listeners most enjoyed.

The episode that gained the most popularity this year is titled "Understanding Andrew Carnegie's Definition of Success and Personal Mastery," which is Episode 254.

Andrew Carnegie, a Scottish-born American industrialist and philanthropist, played a significant role in expanding the American steel industry in the late 19th century. In episode 254, I talked about Napoleon Hill's interview with Carnegie, and the definition of success Carnegie came up with was very powerful.

Andrew Carnegie’s powerful quote is: “Success is always the result of an ordered life. An ordered life comes through organised thinking and carefully controlled habits.”

Carnegie's quote on success emphasises the importance of an ordered life, which stems from organised thinking and carefully controlled habits.

Cultivating a clear and orderly mind through organised thinking and developing success habits through carefully controlled habits, are the keys to success.

Tools such as journaling or using a daily or goal achievement planner can greatly assist in organising your thoughts and establishing effective habits.

I encourage you to reflect on this question with Andrew Carnegie’s definition of success in mind: In which area of your life do you need more order?

The second most popular episode is episode 262: "Transitioning Into A New Way Of Working In The Future." This episode is part 3 of our Work-Life interview series with Steve Preston, known as "The Career Catalyst."

With the rise of AI or artificial intelligence and its impact on various sectors, it is crucial to consider how humanity can embrace new technologies to its advantage. According to Steve, while AI has affected some job roles, human beings are far from redundant.

To thrive in the future job market, individuals need three things. To be:

  1. Open to change
  2. Opportunistic and
  3. Creative.

Steve emphasises the importance of being aware of the shifts happening in the world of work.

Furthermore, he suggests that pursuing what you love is essential for finding fulfilment in your career. By being honest with yourself and exploring activities you genuinely enjoy and excel at, you can unlock opportunities in the world of work doing what you love.

Lastly, the third most popular episode this year is: "Understanding Taking Responsibility For Your Life," which is episode 255.

Taking 100% responsibility for your life can be a challenging principle, particularly if you feel victimised. However, it is essential to embrace this idea to regain control and move forward.

Firstly, taking full responsibility for your life changes your perspective. It allows you to believe that life is happening for you, not to you and empowers you to respond effectively to challenges. Reflecting on how you habitually respond to life is crucial—is it from a place of power or disempowerment?

Secondly, assuming responsibility for your life brings peace and freedom because you reclaim the driver's seat and refuse to let circumstances dictate your future. You can transform disharmony into harmony and peace of mind, even when conflicts with others or unresolved past issues resurface.

Thirdly, adopting a constructive mindset by taking responsibility allows you to let go of blame and strengthen your belief in your ability to handle any situation. It encourages resourcefulness and prevents a sense of powerlessness.

I hope you found this article informative and inspiring as we explored the three most downloaded episodes this year. From understanding success to navigating the future of work and embracing responsibility, these topics contribute to a balanced and harmonious life.

Remember to prioritise balance and harmony in your life and enjoy each day wholeheartedly.
